Do Women Lose Their Power Once They Give Up The Goods?

The power struggle between men and women is one that is ongoing and never-ending. Both genders come into dating with their own agendas, and this is where the miscommunication starts. Agendas may shift if the individuals involved become enamored with one another. But, from their first interaction, there is always a plan of action. The plan of action is to achieve power over the other person and get them to lean towards their goal. Some have no intentions on abusing the power. They only want their fair share and are willing to share. Others come into the game knowing what they want from the other person and are willing to manipulate to achieve their final goal; even if it means hurting the other person. The power shift between men and women goes as follows: In the beginning the woman is the one with the power and the man willingly gives it to her. Why? Because she has something he wants. He wants to have sex with her. His plan may shift later after he gets to know her. Then he may want...

You Ain't Gettin' None...

*Inspired by  this right here  and the all around awesomeness that is-  Jacylyn Friedman. * I deeply want to eradicate any language that describes sex as an act that is given by a woman to a man:  Are you gonna let him hit? Should I give him some? She gave it up last night, dog.  Rather, I should say I want to destroy the attitudes about sex that implicate it as anything less than an equal exchange between two consenting parties. If we didn’t look at sex as a woman “giving it up”, then I wouldn’t care less if a woman was inclined to say she “gave him some”. Because the implication would be that he gave  her  something, too. I’ve gotten the same questions repeatedly from friends regarding my past casual sex partners (not necessarily the specific men in question, but the entire concept of a casual sex partner as a whole):  “Does he really respect you?”, ” Are you f*cking or getting f*cked?”, “Why would you give it up to someone who doesn’t want to b...

Long Distance Relationship Survival Kit....

It is a cold rainy evening, one that is perfect for cuddling on the couch, in the arms of the one you love and watching (what you hope will be) a good movie. A smile spreads across your face, at the thought of the warmth of his body against you and how sensually intoxicating his smell is. Suddenly, a soft sigh escapes your lips and the smile that was once spread across your face has transformed itself into a deep frown. Yes, it would have been the perfect evening for cuddling if only he didn’t live two hundred seventeen miles away. photo credit: unknown There are various reasons why some women end up in a long distance relationship. Two main reasons being, circumstances, when one half of the couple has to move to another state in order to pursue their education or career. The other reason the Internet which has made it possible for single people to connect with one another from around the country and the world. Whatever the reason that has you involved in a long distance relationship, ...

How Comfy is your Relationship?

All relationships go through different phases of “comfort-level” – you know what I mean….those phases of “I’m comfortable enough to do THIS in front of him but not THAT” kind of comfort-levels.  It dawned on me yesterday when I was sitting on the toilet peeing as my ex-boyfriend walked naked into the living room – we have gone through all the comfort-levels possible and why don’t I write about them? LOL So here they are – see if you don’t agree!! When you first start dating someone, you are on your best behavior. No burping, no farting, no picking your nose, peeing only when the door is shut and absolutely no pooping within each other’s vicinity.  You get undressed and dressed in the dark. After you’ve been seeing each other for a couple weeks, the guy is ok to fart in the woman’s presence and he’s probably burping too.  He’s still going outside or upstairs or downstairs or around the corner to fart if it’s really stinky.  Pooping is still not done within each othe...

Breaking Up... The Right Way...

SO after a few relationships, more than I care to admit to... I found that there are rules to this game of Breaking Up... It is always hilarious to me the people who break up, get back together, break up, get back together, repeat 10 times. Get over it morons – if it’s broken, and stays broken, it’s beyond fixing. Shove the drama to the side and just break up already and move on with your life!! Per Wikipedia: A relationship breakup (sometimes referred to as a relationship breakdown) occurs when a relationship, typically a romantic one, comes to an end. The breakup creates personal emotions, which vary from casual acceptance to emotional trauma. They may create feelings of relief, of regret, of fault someone for the breakdown, to anger, the seeking of revenge, besides other emotions. There seem to be different opinions on what constitutes breaking up and what doesn’t…. for the sake of argument, we’ll assume you have no children together (thought one partner may have a child), you ...

We are simple creatures...

Everywhere I look, there are “guides” to understanding women (please note, there aren’t NEARLY as many for understanding men). The underlying theme seems to be that women are confusing, you can’t figure them out and it’s hopeless so pretty much just keep your mouth shut, go with the flow and deal with it. Give me a break. We are not complicated creatures. Where you stand up to pee, we sit. You have a key and we have the lock. Our chests droop more than yours. That’s just about it. I’ve dated men who are FAR more emotional than any chick could be. Men will say that women are irrational, impossible to understand, start arguments for no reason, blah blah blah. If men would just pause for a moment and think about the consequences of their actions, as women do, we could all get along a lot better. From the perspective of a 27 year old woman, we are not that complicated. Pause for a moment and think about what a man wants from a relationship, if you can ( I'll wait..)....

In a relationship......

What makes you happy? What is your absolute realtionship breaker and why? Why do you stay when all the signs say leave? Why do we fall in love with someone's potential instead of the person we are presented with? I would love to hear your thoughts to get this blog jumpstarted.... My perspective: I used to be stuck to certain prototype of man. A certain height, a certain complexion but as I get older. I have learn it doesn't matter how a man looks but rather about the qualities he possess. I am happy with a man that is kind and considerate. Of course I love a man with a rough edge but he has to still have an open mind to experience new things and expand his horizons. I want a man who isnt afraid to profess his love for me, protects and provides for me. Relationship breakers for me are: (1) blatant liars because that is a sign of blatant disrespect and then (2) no progression, we can not be dating and there is no progress. I don't have time to waste nor do I hav...
